India Helps Nepal: After Afghanistan, 75 ambulances and 17 school buses gifted to Nepal

India Helps Nepal: India on Sunday gifted 75 ambulances and 17 school buses to Nepal. India presented the gift to the neighboring country as part of the “strong and long-standing” development partnership between the two countries and efforts to help Nepal strengthen its infrastructure in the health and education sectors. The newly-appointed Ambassador of India Naveen Srivastava handed over the keys of the vehicles in the presence of Devendra Poudel, Minister of Education, Science and Technology of Nepal.

The Indian Embassy said that the gift of 75 ambulances also marks 75 years of India’s independence. “The gifting of ambulances and school buses is part of the strong development partnership between the two countries,” Srivastava said. He said that this initiative has been one of the long-standing traditions of the Government of India under the Nepal-India Development Partnership Program to boost the efforts of the Government of Nepal to strengthen its infrastructure in health and education. Nepal thanks for helping India

Poudel appreciated India’s various ongoing development projects in Nepal and said that this initiative will continue to strengthen people-to-people ties and improve relations between the two countries. The Indian Embassy informed that 75 ambulances and 17 school buses will be handed over to various government departments and NGOs working in the field of health and education in different districts of Nepal.

India helped even during Corona

India gifted 39 ventilators-equipped ambulances in 2021 as part of its efforts to help Nepal deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Similarly, in 2020, India gifted 41 ambulances and six school buses to Nepal to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
