Mayank Yadav has won everyone’s hearts with his bowling so far in this IPL. He made an explosive debut with the Lucknow Super Giants in 2024. He also achieved the feat of bowling the fastest ball of this IPL season at 155.8 km/h. Now, former England fast bowler Stuart Broad feels that 21-year-old Mayank Yadav has the ability to make a splash in all three formats of cricket.
Stuart Broad believes Mayank Yadav can make his debut in the Indian team soon. Speaking in the Star Sports press box, Broad said: “He looks like a bowler who can play all three formats. Initially, India will play five Test matches in Australia. Is he ready to perform there? Can you see it? Sure, it looks like he has good wrist position. I’m sure he can swing the red ball too.”
He further said: “Let him develop naturally and continue to perform well. But I think we will see him make his debut for India in the next 18 months.”
Talking to the IPL website, Mayank Yadav said, “This is my third season and I didn’t get a chance in my first season. I got injured last season. Speed is my natural thing. My focus has always been on consistency. “As soon as I stepped on the field, I knew I was here and had to perform at my best. As soon as I bowled the first ball, I realized this was an opportunity and I had to make the most of it.”
He further said, “My father inspired me to play fast bowling. My inspiration and goal is to become like Jasprit Bumrah. He is the best fast bowler in the world and I will try to be like him.”
