Elderly parents were forced to go from house to house begging for Rs 50,000 to donate the body of their young son in a hospital in India.

In the days of Modi government, which claims to be the world’s largest democracy and Shining India, such incidents are taking place which make humanity bow their heads in shame. A similar incident has recently taken place where the staff of a government hospital Elderly parents demanded Rs 50,000 to give their son’s body.

The incident is not of the indifference of a private hospital but of a government hospital. An elderly employee went to collect the body of his young son at an official hospital in Samastipur district of Bihar state of India. He demanded a huge sum of Rs. 50,000 which was not possible for these poor parents to pay immediately.

Forced parents are forced to beg on the streets to meet the demands of this insensitive employee of the hospital, devoid of the spirit of humanity. The video of parents going from house to house begging went viral on social media after which this indifference has also been reported in the mainstream media of India.

According to an Indian TV channel, Mahesh Thakur, an old man begging with his wife, told the local news agency that his son had gone missing some time ago. When they went to get it, an employee there refused to give the body without paying and demanded Rs 50,000. We poor people are trying to collect this amount by begging.

According to the report, this is not the first incident of its kind but even before this there have been several incidents of money being collected from the families of the patients by the staff of this hospital.

According to Indian NDTV, most of the health workers in the hospital are on contract and often do not get paid on time and there have been many cases before when the staff there have received money from the families of the patients.

The hospital management has also come to its senses after the matter came to light through the media and they have hinted at taking action against those responsible for the incident, the hospital’s civil surgeon Dr SK Chaudhry said, adding that it was a disgrace to humanity. The thing is, those who are responsible for it will not be forgiven.
