Independent: The IGJ answered Maratea and flagged the irregularities of the millionaire trust

In the midst of the controversy over the trust created by the influencer Santiago Maratea, with the aim of settling the million-dollar debt that Independiente has, the head of the General Inspectorate of Justice (IGJ), Ricardo Nissen, confirmed irregularities in the contract.

Without guaranteeing details, he revealed that the influencer included a clause that grants him a monthly remuneration of $30,000 and 5 percent of the total collection. “It reminds me of the Panama Papers,” she said.

“It is true that the original contract, the one that was registered in Neuquén, not subject to any control, contains a monthly remuneration of 30,000 dollars and 5 percent of the collection, there is a clause,” Nissen said in a radio dialogue with the journalist Antonio Fernández Llorente, and added: “I cannot give concrete information because we are studying it in depth. The Justice inspection is going to make some objection.”

In this regard, the head of the organization explained that the first mistake of the legal team that carried out the trust was to register it in the province of Neuquén, under a jurisdiction where there is no type of control.

“It creates a presumption that something is not good and that there is something to hide,” he said, while remarking that Maratea could not have known the legal frameworks and charged against the professionals he counted on.

“In terms of trust, control is the domicile of the trustee, who was Maratea. If he had not had that information, if it is for the benefit of an independent, he should have registered in the province of Buenos Aires,” he stressed. Along the same lines, he stated: “It reminds me of the Panama Papers when it registers in places that have nothing to do with it.”

For the head of the IGJ, it is a regular practice that is carried out because “something is needed quickly and the company or corporation that wants to register does not pursue clean ends”, and explained: “You go to a remote place, nobody controls, registers what he wants and is registered. It attracts a lot of attention”.

Nissen also said that the provincial legislation of Neuquén is “super friendly” given that, in 2016, a law was enacted that established that trusts must register with the Neuquén College of Notaries, a private entity and that beyond registration, they do not there would be “no kind of control” in this regard.

“A public understanding should control it,” he remarked, adding: “It appears and is registered, while in other places there is an exhausted control.” “The trust is a procedure, not a contract, if one wants to know who is behind it, it is what leads us to know the truth of what one wants,” continued Nissen, and concluded: “With the trust, marriages, successions, of everything, and it has not given many results like the business that is characterized by transparency. It has given many results, sometimes good, many times bad”.

Maratea challenged in the networks

In the midst of the accusations and accusations, he is even accused of “money laundering” on social networks, Maratea posted a message on his Twitter account: “Santi Manotea (sic) is a trend because IGJ said that the trust presents irregularities. Now he asked them, has anyone read what are the irregularities that it marks? Hahaha read guys. Spoiler alert: they are looking ridiculous.”

The questioned influencer tried to answer the IGJ’s accusations. Now Nissen marked in detail the questionable points of the trust.
