IND vs AUS Test Series: What should India’s starting pair look like? Harbhajan Singh gave this answer

There are two days left until the start of the test series between India and Australia (IND vs AUS). As the date approaches, several pronouncements are coming out of the possible combination of playing 11 of both teams in the batting order. Many former cricketers are also giving their opinion and suggestions on the matter. In this sequence, Harbhajan Singh has given an important suggestion for the starting pairing of Team India. Harbhajan has said that Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill should start in the Test series against Australia.

Sharing his thoughts on YouTube, Harbhajan has said: ‘Opening a partnership is the most important thing. In any series, only the opening pair sets the tone. According to me, Rohit and Shubman should open the Indian team against Australia. Gill is in excellent shape at the moment. Although KL Rahul is also a top player, his recent record is not in his favor at the moment. At the same time, Gill is in the best shape of his career. He has broken many records in the last month.

Harbhajan also said that Shubman should start Rohit not just for one game but for the entire series. Harbhajan says: ‘After scoring so many runs I think he (Shubman Gill) deserves a place in India’s game-11. Not just for one Test, but Team India has to retain him in the whole series. The pace and confidence in which he is seen, he can score many runs for India.

Shubman Gill is in excellent form at the moment, while KL Rahul is trying to find his rhythm. Shubman Gill’s bat is working very hard these days. In ODI cricket, his batting average has been shocking as well as in T20 cricket, this batsman has scored a century recently. Even in the test matches played last year, he has been better than KL Rahul. In such a situation, he is seen beating KL Rahul in the case of starting pair.

Speaking of Shubman Gill’s recent 12 international innings (T20, ODI, Test), he has scored 769 runs here with an excellent batting average of 76.90, including a double century and 4 centuries. On the other hand, KL Rahul looks a bit washed out. He has been able to score 318 runs in the last 12 innings at an average of just 28.90. He has not been able to score a single century.
