Former Pakistan cricket captain Imran Khan has created numerous records in his illustrious career. And now the former prime minister of the country seems to have broken another ‘world record’. Imran Khan said on Twitter that he is facing about 150 cases. He has pleaded not guilty to each. News: Khaleej Times

He was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court on Thursday in a murder case. His lawyer said he cannot be arrested again on this charge for the next 14 days. After receiving this bail, Imran Khan tweeted on Thursday at 11:15 pm. There, Gada Gada expressed his feelings about the new case against him.

He wrote, ‘Today I broke a world record, but not in cricket. I made a new record by appearing in 20 cases. Cases ranging from murder to terrorism and treason have been filed against Asa.

He wrote, ‘Surprisingly, while I was incarcerated in NAB jail, 9 more criminal cases were registered against me.’

In a long tweet, he wrote, ‘Always with respect for the rule of law – I am running every step of the way to ensure that I do not miss a single court hearing in the 150 cases against me.’

He further writes, ‘Not only has this level of repression completely condemned this government, but it is now clear that this fascism has been imposed on us. Because they are afraid of losing the election to PTI.’

Imran Khan writes, ‘The misuse of law to suppress the opposition is unfortunately also a terrible indictment of our legal system. Such violation of a citizen’s fundamental rights is unthinkable in a free and democratic society.’

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested on May 9. He was detained for three days for alleged violent protests by his followers. He is currently out on bail in various criminal cases.

His lawyer Gohar Khan said Imran Khan had to move from his home in Lahore to the capital to get bail in the murder case, to avoid fresh arrests and to apply for bail in more than a dozen other cases.

Another lawyer, Naeem Haider, said he had been granted bail in all other cases for which he had applied.

The 70-year-old former cricket star was elected Prime Minister of Pakistan in 2018. He has been at loggerheads with the country’s powerful military since he was ousted in a no-confidence vote last year. Since the creation of the state of Pakistan, the military has ruled the country directly or supervised civilian governments. Political conflicts there often escalate to the courts.

When Imran Khan was arrested last month on corruption charges, he denied the allegations against him. Demonstrations by his supporters protesting his arrest spread across Pakistan. Military installations were vandalized. This has created new concerns about the stability of nuclear-powered Pakistan, a country of 220 million people. Because the country is in the worst economic crisis in decades.

Ever since Imran Khan was released on bail, new cases are being filed against him. On Wednesday, the police mentioned the name of a lawyer seeking a sedition trial for killing him.
