Important announcement for UAE tourists

Fully vaccinated tourists coming to the UAE do not need a negative PCR test. Others will have to provide a PCR test certificate from an approved clinic.

According to information released on Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways website, fully vaccinated tourists arriving in the UAE capital will not be required to undergo a negative PSR test. The CR test must be taken or the Code 19 Recovery Certificate must be submitted within 30 days along with the QR code dated within it.

In addition, tourists must take a test upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport, with the exception of those under 16 years of age.

The announcement comes in the wake of a relaxation in the Code 19 Safety Protocol by the UAE’s National Authority for Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management (NCEMA), which eliminates the need for PCR testing for vaccinated residents. It has to do with giving people the right to wear masks or not.

Dubai-based flagship carrier Emirates also said on its website that tourists visiting Dubai would be considered valid for submitting either a Code 19 Vaccination Certificate or a negative PCR test that does not exceed 48 hours.

Explaining this, the world’s largest international carrier said that a valid vaccination certificate should prove that the traveler is fully vaccinated by the World Health Organization or the UAE and includes a QR code. For those tourists who are not fully vaccinated, the Code 19 PCR test certificate must also have a QR code and the test must be from an approved health service.

In this regard, Emirates further said that if requested, tourists will have to undergo PCR test on arrival in Dubai and keep themselves in quarantine till negative result is obtained and if the test of the passenger is positive, it will be referred to local health authority. The instructions issued must be followed.

Dubai’s flagship carrier said printed or digital PCR tests or vaccination certificates are accepted in English or Arabic and must include a QR code. SMS certificates will not be accepted.

It was further stated that the Code 19 PCR test or the same vaccination certificate in other languages would be acceptable which could be verified from the place of departure.

It should be noted that all these rules have been applied to all tourists coming to Dubai, including those coming from GCC, from February 26.
