Impact player CSK vs GT: As the IPL 2023 league stage came to an end, defending IPL champions Gujarat Titans at number one and four-time title winners Chennai Super Kings at number two. Gujarat Titans, captained by Hardik Pandya, is only in its second season in the IPL, but the impression the team has made is no secret. On the other hand, the last season may have been very bad for CSK, but the kind of comeback the team has had, only a champion team can do that. But the question is what is the secret of the success of CSK and GT in this IPL. What happened that other teams couldn’t do and these two teams did. If you’re trying to figure out the reason for this, then there’s no need to go back much further. An IPL rule will know what has happened after all. This is the impact player rule implemented this year.

Impact player rule used by GT and CSK in the best way

In IPL 2023, the BCCI implemented a new rule called the Impact Player Rule. By virtue of this, after the draw, the captains of both teams can announce their playing XI, as well as deliver the list of four of those players, who have remained as Substitutes. Substitute player means that any of them can be called to play at any time. In addition, one player will be removed from the playing XI. When this rule went into effect, there was a lot of talk about it. It was said that with this rule the entire match would be annulled. Teams will take advantage of this. It happened exactly the same. But Chennai Super Kings and GT did something else. An ESPNcricinfo report shows that these two teams have used the least-impact player rule. If we talk about the 14 matches played up to the league stage, Chennai Super Kings, captained by MS Dhoni, did not make any change in their Playing XI for nine times, that is, none of the Playing XI players were changed. That is to say, the team has used him only five times out of 14. On the other hand, the Gujarat Titans understood the need for a change only four times and they did so. The interesting thing is that out of the ten teams that played IPL this year, there were five such teams that dropped one or the other player from their playing XI every time i.e. every match and brought in another player. The condition of those teams is in front of you, at least they are not at number one and two.

Hardik Pandya follows in the footsteps of MS Dhoni.

Those who follow MS Dhoni know that he makes very few changes to his playing XI. They have been known to play the same XI on a consistent basis if the team is on a winning streak and needlessly. When Dhoni was the captain of the India team, he used to do the same. CSK and MI are believed to be such teams, taking out the entire IPL in 14-15 players with the rest of the players sitting around. Now it can be believed to some extent that Gujarat Titans and Hardik Pandya also work on the same formula. By the way, Lucknow Supergiants also made their debut last year. The team also made the playoffs last year and also qualified this year, but the LSG team has not entered the playoffs in either year being number one and number two. This explains the difference between GT and LSG.
