ICC U19 World Cup:

New Delhi. In their last ICC U19 World Cup league match, India has to face Uganda and ahead of this match, the India team has suffered a major setback. In fact, five Indian players, including captain Yash Dhul, were ruled out of the match against Uganda on Friday after they tested positive for COVID-19 in the latest RT-PCR test.

An ICC source told PTI that only all-rounder Vasu Vats has a negative test out of the six players who went into isolation ahead of the match against Ireland on Wednesday. The Indian team has already been booked for the quarterfinals.

India will face Uganda in the final match of Group B on Saturday. Captain Dhul, Aradhya Yadav and Sheikh Rashid, who tested positive on the rapid antigen test (RAT), also tested positive on RT-PCR. The RT-PCR test result from the human assay that was negative in RAT was also positive. An ICC source said: “What has been positive about the outcome of this test is that all 11 players who took the field against Ireland have tested negative.

Among the players who get infected, the symptoms of this disease are higher in Dhul. If India finish top of their group, their quarter-final match will take place on January 29 and by then everyone should be ‘fine’ except Dhul. India secured a place in the round of 16 with a big win against Ireland after putting the team on the field in difficult conditions due to the Corona virus outbreak in their camp. All infected players must remain in isolation for five days per tournament protocol. Within this period, you can also join the team only after you test negative three times in research.

However, there are questions about how the Indian gamers came under the control of the virus even after being in a biobubble (biosecure environment). After winning the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates, the Indian team left for the West Indies via Amsterdam. After arriving in Guyana, the Indian team had to stay in isolation for five days and during this time a teammate’s test result was positive. The member is believed to have contracted the virus during his travels, infecting other players.

The result of the RT-PCR report comes after two days and the Indian players were in contact with that coaching staff member for two days after coming out of isolation on the fifth day. He said: “The players were with the coach during that period and it seems like the virus hit the team from there.
