After having presented the new FreeBuds 5 with its original water drop design, Huawei has unveiled another novelty in the equally original headphones.
The new FreeBuds Pro 2+ are the first on the market to integrate the ability to measure temperature and monitor heart rate.

Huawei is committed to innovation to gain a “sunnier” place in the consumer electronics market. After unveiling the FreeBuds 5, which are characterized by their original design in the shape of a drop of water, it was time to reveal yet another surprise.
The new FreeBuds Pro 2+ earphones also innovate in this segment, being the first to include temperature measurement and heart rate monitoring functions.
According to the brand, the integration of new sensors for these functions did not significantly increase the weight of each earphone, since only 0.2 grams were added. Each headset of this model weighs 6.3 grams.
The Chinese brand also explained that a dual infrared and green sensor has been integrated for heart rate monitoring that allows it to provide more precise data than optical sensors, normally integrated into wearable technology.
In turn, the temperature sensor uses a three-dimensional measurement architecture that detects and evaluates the temperature of the ear canal and the skin of the ear, as well as its lateral area.
The data collected from these three points is then combined using an algorithm that provides more accurate information.
As for the sound specifications, the new FreeBuds Pro 2+ provide support for L2HC and LDACTM high-definition audio. They are also equipped with ANC 2.0 dynamic noise cancellation, based on a stereo array of three microphones with a maximum reduction depth of up to 47 decibels.
The headphones also feature spatial audio based on a Huawei-developed sound field rendering engine that allows users to choose one of three available: concert, theater or cinema.
For now, there is still no information about its global availability or the price at which it will hit the market.
