How could Hardik Pandya survive in the list of players with central contracts without playing?

With Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan released from central contract, the question arises: How did Hardik Pandya survive? The answer to this question has been found. Hardik Pandya has assured the selectors that he will definitely take part in domestic cricket. Earlier, BCCI had taken strict action and removed Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan from the list of players with central contracts for ignoring domestic cricket.

BCCI has replaced Hardik Pandya in the A-Class list of players with central contracts. Hardik Pandya gets an annual salary of Rs 5 crore from BCCI. However, the question was: When Iyer and Kishan lost their contracts for ignoring domestic cricket, why wasn’t this condition applied to Hardik Pandya? The answer to this question was sought in the Indian Express report.

Ishaan and Iyer were punished

The report claims that the selectors have accepted that Hardik Pandya’s injury was serious and it will take some time for him to return to the field. Furthermore, Hardik Pandya has assured the selectors that whenever he is not on national duty, he will definitely take part in limited overs matches in domestic cricket. However, Hardik Pandya doesn’t seem to be making a comeback in the red-ball format. One reason is that Hardik Pandya can be named captain of Team India in the limited-overs format after the T20 World Cup this year.

On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan had to pay the price for not taking part in the Ranji Trophy. BCCI has made it clear that any player who is not on national duty will have to take part in the Ranji Trophy. But these two players didn’t take the matter seriously.
