The Ministry of Health has reported this Saturday of the second death by monkey pox in Spain, after notifying the first one on Friday, which was registered in the Valencian Community.
According to data from the National Epidemiological Surveillance Network (RENAVE), as of July 29, a total of 4,298 confirmed cases of monkeypox have been reported in Spain, of which has information on 3,750 patients.
In total, 120 cases have been hospitalized and two of them have already died, according to Health, which has communicated the information to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Commission.
The first death from monkeypox in Spain, which became known on Friday, was recorded in the Valencian Community due to infection-associated encephalitisas detailed by the Ministry of Universal Health.
