Hanser clinches White Sox victory with three-run H4

Hanser Alberto hit a three-run homer, Dylan Cease carved another good start against the Twins and the Chicago White Sox beat Minnesota 4-3 on Monday night.

Yasmani Grandal had two hits and drove in another run for Chicago, which had to throw out shortstop Tim Anderson in the sixth inning with a left knee injury after colliding with a runner.

Cease, second in voting for the AL Cy Young Award last season, gave up three runs but only one earned on errors by the White Sox. Cease (2-0) allowed three hits with six strikeouts in five innings.

The Twins had just 2 hits for 48 at-bats and went scoreless in 16 innings against Cease last season.

For the White Sox, Alberto 4-1, three RBIs. Cubans Luis Robert Jr. 4-0; and Grandal 4-2, one scored and one towed. The Venezuelan Elvis Andrus of 4-1.

For the Twins, Puerto Ricans José Miranda 5-1; Willi Castro 3-0; and Christian Vázquez from 3-1. The Colombian Donovan Solano from 4-1.
