Luis Garcia hit a pair of doubles and drove in a run before the seventh inning, when he left the game with an apparent injury. Juan Soto had a pair of hits and drove in a run for Washington, which has lost seven of eight games.
Nick Nelson (3-1) allowed one hit over two scoreless innings in relief of Bailey Falter. Seranthony Dominguez finished another strong performance out of the Phillies’ bullpen with a perfect ninth inning for his third save in four chances.
Philadelphia took the lead with three runs in the third inning off Joan Adon (1-12).
