Erling Haaland’s debut in the English Premier League will be with a visit to West Ham when Manchester City kick off their title defense at the Olympic Stadium.

The schedule for the league’s 2022-23 season was announced on Thursday. Liverpool, the team that again appears as City’s main opponents for the title, will open with a visit to newly promoted Fulham on August 6. City will play the next day.

The first Man City-Liverpool duel will be in mid-October at Anfield, two weeks after City hosts Manchester United.

Haaland has been the most famous signing of the summer when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund. The 21-year-old Norwegian striker’s first official match at home will be against Bournemouth for the second date.

Liverpool will have its first home match against Crystal Palace, also on the second date. The Reds have just acquired Uruguayan Darwin Nunez to bolster a squad of forwards that includes Colombian Luis Diaz.

Nottingham Forest have just been promoted after winning the second division playoffs. Their first game in the division of honor since 1999 will be at Newcastle.

The opening match of the season will be staged on August 5, with Arsenal away against Crystal Palace.

The Premier will have a break from the weekend of November 12 and 13 until December 26 due to the World Cup in Qatar.
