The latest installment in the GTA series: Grand Theft Auto VI is probably one of the most anticipated games ever. The release is actually planned for early 2025. However, according to the Kotaku portal, this period is becoming increasingly unlikely and the sequel could slip to the end of 2025 or even 2026.
The production team is reportedly facing some delays. The publication could be postponed significantly
Release only at the end of 2025 or even 2026?
In the first trailer, a release was targeted for early 2025. Anonymous sources familiar with the development status of the new GTA offshoot have told Kotaku that the target release time may not be met. Alleged delays in development could mean that GTA 6 could not go on sale until fall 2025. If all else fails, the delay could even extend until 2026.
Management cancels home office
Management has also responded to the possible delays. Rockstar Games informed its employees in February that working from home would no longer be possible from April and that they would have to work in the developer’s office again five days a week.
According to Rockstar, the official reason for this step is the safety and quality of the production. According to Kotaku’s sources, the management team expects this to lead to a faster pace of development.
