GreyHounders achieves half a million euros in a financing round

The Spanish eyewear brand GreyHounders, which aims to bring quality optics closer to all audiences thanks to technology, a new challenge is marked. To this end, they will continue to expand the company’s business model nationally, after the closing of a financing round of half a million euros. It was led by the investment firm Poniente Capital.

Opening of new physical stores

The company, which disintermediates the production chain of the optical sector to lower its main costs, with this new round of investment, which has been attended by investors of the caliber of Gregarious Seeds, among others, aims to revolutionize the sector. In addition, to achieve ambitious and strategic objectives for its growth, such as physically landing in three new cities and promoting its brand.

The key to what we do is having a deep understanding of customer needs and being able to always offer them the best product, of the highest quality at the lowest possible price. In addition, you can choose the best solution, between receiving them at home, picking them up at one of the stores, trying online or trying at home, and you have power over the filters and treatments you want to add or not. The client 100% customizes a purchase process that is usually very traditional, physical and expensive.

More than one million turnover and new round

The company, founded in 2018 as an e-commerce, has been selected by Lanzadera. This is the business accelerator created and promoted by Juan Roig, president of Mercadona, to participate in his acceleration program.

Likewise, the company has the objective of tripling its turnover and opening a new round of capital increase of 1.5 million euros after the summer. The objective is to consolidate its national expansion with the opening of new physical stores. On the other hand, they want to deal with their approved business plan for the coming months.

GreyHounders, with Marta Frenna at the helm of the product, already has a team made up of twelve people. It also plans to incorporate twelve more, two physical stores in Madrid and another three stores in operation that will be operating in the second half of this year. Currently, GreyHounders manages to offer high quality glasses and nationally manufactured lenses at the most competitive price in the market. Exclusive designs and Augmented Reality technology to test the product without leaving home are two of the key factors of its business model.
