Grandmaster Diego Flores recovers the top of the tournament

The GM Diego Flores brought out his best game to defeat GM Fernando Peralta and thus managed to win after 26 moves. With 3 points out of 4, Flores now finds himself as leader of the Superior Argentine Championship, organized by the Argentine Chess Federation and that is being disputed in Bariloche.

The guards IM Pablo Acosta and GM Sandro Mareco could not draw differences and concluded in a draw in move 39. While, reigning Argentine champion GM Federico Pérez Ponsa continues his drawing streak by drawing this time against GM Leandro Krysa.

Secondly, GM Alan Pichot achieved his first victory by defeating IM Kevin Paveto with the black pieces. The youngest of the contest, MF Joaquín Fiorito achieved an important victory against the Argentine runner-up, GM Ariel Sorin, by defeating him after 39 moves, thus Joaquín achieved his second consecutive victory and is half a unit behind the leader. Finally, GM Diego Valerga surpassed FM Juan Manuel Gaitán with the white pieces in 42 moves.

The leaderboard is as follows: Flowers 3 points; Mareco, Peralta, Acosta, Fiorito, Krysa 2.5 points; Valerga, Pérez Ponsa, Pichot 2 points; Sorin and Gaitan 1 point and Paveto with 0.5 points.

The fifth round will have the duels between Pichot vs Flores, Peralta vs Sorin, Mareco vs Paveto, Krysa vs Valerga, Fiorito vs Pérez Ponsa, and Gaitan vs Acosta.
