The National Treasury started paying yesterday Easter gift or salary 13 to retirees from the public sector, members of the Armed Forces, the National Police and collaborators of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
The institution informed daily list that this week it is contemplated to finish the payment of the double salary as the entities load their early payroll in the electronic payment system in order to expedite the delivery of salary 13 to state employees.
The institutions that continue to collect the Easter royalty are the Comptroller General of the Republic, the Ministry of Finance and the National Treasury.
Some Public employees that belong to other ministries, and others from the private sector confirmed the receipt of their double salary, where through the traditional Christmas party they receive salary 13.
what the law says
The Dominican Labor Code establishes the obligations that employers have, the proportion to be delivered, as well as the delivery deadline of this payment so longed for by the citizens. In article 219, the law says that the employer is obliged to pay the Christmas salary in December.
