Government assets increased from 1.9 billion to 2.13 billion.

The General Directorate of Government Accounting (Digecog) released the statistics that, in two years, that institution registered 22 educational centers and began the process of incorporating 134 buildings and land into the public patrimony that were not in the State accounts, with which the financial statements of the Government presented a net increase of RD$91,000 million in assets.

Digecog’s general director, Félix Santana García, stressed that central government assets increased from 1.9 trillion to 2.13 trillion at the end of fiscal year 2021.

Santana García offered this information while participating in the thanksgiving mass officiated by the priest Nelson Clark, parish priest of the First Cathedral of America, on the occasion of the celebration of the 19th anniversary of that institution, with the assistance of high-ranking government officials.

The official stated that the institution has positioned itself on more than 94% of the presidential goalscomplying 100% with the letter of commitment to the citizen and 99% in the Evaluation of Institutional Performance (EDI).

He stated that the institution is in the Top 7 of the institutions with the best SISMAP Ranking, with 91%; achieved the Gold Medal in the XVII National Award for Quality and Promising Practices in the sector, sponsored by the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) and stands out for promoting gender equality, with 58% female representation in its staff.

Among the most relevant achievements was the strengthening of the accounting culture of the Dominican public sector, by causing the 159 accountants of the Central Government to formulate and submit for approval their adjustment and/or reclassification entries in the Integrated System of State Finance Management (SIGEF).

He also pointed out the training of 218 technicians from the financial areasresponsible for accounting records and records of public assets and 16,462 technical assistance to decentralized institutions, public companies, social security institutions and local governments.
