Google Pixel 7: new model that nobody expected is on the way

It was in May that Google showed the first images of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. A maneuver that no one expected, but that served as a preview of the avalanche of information leaks that will inevitably happen until its launch.

What no one expected is that the American technology company was secretly working on a third element for this top-of-the-range line. In fact, it is now hypothesized that the Pixel 7 Ultra will be introduced.

Pixel 7 Ultra will be Google’s big surprise in 2023

The clues about the development of this model were discovered by the programmer Kuba Wojciechowski. He had access to the software source code for upcoming Google smartphones, where he found various details about these products.

In addition to the models that have already been confirmed, the source found a third party with the internal code “Lynx”. This will be an even more powerful model in the Pixel 7 range and which it has decided to call Ultra.

If all this is true, the Pixel 7 Ultra will have three cameras on its back, two of them high resolution. The main one will be made up of the 50 MP Samsung GN1 sensor, as we will find in the Pixel 7 Pro.

So we will have a 64 MP IMX787 lens with a size of 1.3 inches. This means the Pixel 7 Ultra will raise the bar even higher with two such high-resolution sensors.

The third sensor could still be 12 MP for the wide-angle lens. Note also the presence of a 13 MP sensor on the front of the Pixel 7 Ultra to mediate selfies and video calls.

As for the remaining elements of the Pixel 7 lineup, they should inherit the configuration of their predecessors. This means that the Pixel 7 will come with a 50MP main sensor and a 12MP wide-angle sensor.

The Google Pixel 7 Pro will have a 50 MP main sensor, a 12 MP wide angle and a 48 MP telephoto sensor. Details that had already been advanced on a previous occasion by other sources linked to the industry.

Folding Pixel could arrive in 2022

Kuba Wojciechowski also reiterates the development of the first Google-branded foldable smartphone. In addition, he advances the first details of his photographic configuration.

In fact, this folding device will have a 50 MP main lens and two more 12 MP sensors. On the front, there will be an 8 MP sensor.

To conclude, we should also highlight the development of a new tablet with support for a pen or needle. On its back there will be two lenses, possibly with a resolution of 8 MP.
