Google’s messaging app, aptly dubbed google messages, you will receive a particularly useful and intuitive function that we find, for example, in Gmail and even in Tinder. More specifically, we have new gestures and actions based on bad beer in the app
Users can, for example, quickly archive or ignore an incoming SMS in the Google Messages app with a swipe. That is, by dragging a certain message to the right or left in the free Google application.
Drag to manage inbox in Google Messages app
The news was discovered by the publication. 9to5Google when reviewing the Google Messages app package. More specifically, by analyzing the .APK file of the beta (test) version of this messaging application for Android.
We know that the user will be able, very soon, to customize the actions and behaviors of the drag commands, the bad beer. Thus, for example, they will be able to do more than just send an SMS, a command already available in current versions.
According to the aforementioned source, we will have a range of “Swipe Actions”, or actions when dragging a message from the inbox. In this way, it will be easier to delete a conversation, if you wish, simply by dragging that SMS.
The gestures will be customizable by the user in the messaging application.
In practice, the new mechanic will work very similar to what we currently have in Gmail Inbox. There we already have the option to archive, or quickly hide an email. All based on simple gestures and intuitive controls.
It should be noted, however, that these options are currently being developed by Google. The analysis of 9to5Google was made to an APK of the test version of this application, so we do not yet have a defined date for its distribution.
However, it shouldn’t be long before this list of what’s new is available for the Android app. From there, it will be a matter of updating the messaging app from the Google Play Store to take advantage of the improvements.
