Getafe denounces Real Madrid for improper alignment

Getafe has denounced Real Madrid before the RFEF Competition Committee for improper alignment in the League match that faced them last Saturday. The azulón club considers that the change of Camavinga was illegal and for this reason it has taken the case to Competition. The Federation has already transferred the complaint to Madrid, which will have three days to present allegations. If the Competition decides that there was an improper alignment, Getafe would be considered as having won the match 0-3. In addition to the result itself, the punishment for Madrid would entail a fine of 6,001 to 9,000 euros. However, as AS learned, in a first estimate of Competitionwhich should become firm throughout the next week, It does not seem that the complaint will be admitted for processing, being archived. In any case, it would be considered as a minor infraction and not as a case of improper alignment.

The controversy that has sparked Getafe’s claim happened in the 84th minute when Odriozola came on for Camavinga. In principle, the French was not going to be replaced. Ancelotti had decided to bring on Odriozola at that time for Asensio. Both high-fived, the defender jumped onto the field and the shot was stopped on the touchline as he was leaving. At that moment, after the kick he suffered from Juan Iglesias, Camavinga requested the substitution and in the end it was he who ended up on the bench, leaving Asensio on the pitch. As indicated in rule 3 on the ‘Number of players’, “Substitutions will be effective when the substitute enters the field of play; from that moment, the player who retires becomes a substituted player, and the substitute becomes a player, so the game can resume.” However, the arbitration team, led by Martínez Munuera, did not understand that the change was effective and allowed Camavinga to leave the field for Odriozola, with Asensio playing the final minutes. Getafe has reviewed the images and has resolved to file a complaint with the Competition.
