Gervonta Davis will go to prison for violating house arrest

The Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WBAL-TV 11 that Gervonta Davis, former WBA lightweight championwas arrested this Thursday for allegedly failing to comply with his house arrest.

‘Tank’ was taken into custody after a visit to the court. The boxer had been sentenced to 90 days of house arrest after pleading guilty to charges of leaving the scene of a car accident in November 2020. Now, Davis will have to spend the rest of his sentence in prison.. The fighter was on a three-year probation period, in addition to having to serve 200 hours of community service.

The native of Baltimore comes from beating Ryan Garcia by technical knockout in the seventh round. His last fight took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Davis is in jail for a November 2020 hit-and-run case that injured four people, including a pregnant woman. The boxer pleaded guilty to four of the 14 crimes of which he was accused to avoid a higher sentence. ‘Tank’ was celebrating his birthday at a club near Martin Luther King Jr. boulevard and the boxer crashed his Lamborghini Urus SUV into another car after failing to stop at a red light.
