The logo of the famous crypto exchange FTX has of course been visible for a while on the F1 car of Mercedes-AMG Petronas. But the trading platform pulls out a lot more for its users. This weekend it will launch the first non-fungible token (NFT) collection in collaboration with the F1 team. And one of those NFTs comes with a very surprising extra.
FTX auctions NFT, winner gets full-size F1 replica
The NFT auction kicks off during the race weekend in Miami. It is the first NFT drop in a series. FTX will provide the auction, which aims to bring fans closer to the team “in a way that was not possible before.”
A total of 11 works of art are part of the collection. The Mercedes F1 car plays a prominent role in each of these works of art. One of the NFTs is very special because the winner also gets a physical object. FTX announced on Twitter.
“Tomorrow launches our first NFT collection together with the @MercedesAMGF1 team and @Mad_Dog_Jones. The winning bid from this NFT will also receive a full-size replica car from 2022.”

Two FTX NFTs come with rear wing
However, the above NFT is not the only token associated with a physical object. The winners of two other NFTs from the collection will receive a rear wing that has actually been on the car during the race.
“Two NFTs are bundled with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 rear wings wrapped in the artwork of the NFT, which were used on the circuit in Miami.”
The auction of these two NFTs started yesterday on FTX and will run until May 13. The NFT auction, where the winner will also receive a replica of the F1 car, will last a little longer, until May 20. Proceeds go to Ignite. This foundation is committed to greater inclusion and diversity in motorsport.
