Freeman’s homer sends Braves to Championship Series

Freddie Freeman homered off closer Josh Hader in the eighth with two outs and the Atlanta Braves advanced to the NL Championship Series for the second straight year, beating the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 on Tuesday night.

The Braves won the division series 3-1 to a maximum of five games. They will face the San Francisco Giants, who achieved 107 wins in the regular season, or the Los Angeles Dodgers, who accumulated 106 for the National League title.

The game was tied 4-4 when the Brewers put Hader on the mound with a mission to nullify Atlanta’s batters.

The left-hander specialized in the fastball struck out Eddie Rosario and Dansby Swanson, but could not face the MVP of the National League in 2020.

Freeman found a slider at 84 mph and catapulted the ball into the seats between left and center field. It was just the fourth home run allowed by Hader all season.
