Four incandescent semifinals in Vigo

Alejandra Salazar-Gemmay Triay open the Vigo semifinals this morning (10:00) against Delfi Brea and Bea González: the two, and best couple of the year, before the three, recently created. A red hot match, the first of this incandescent Saturday of the Vigo Open that ends with Tapia-Coello against Stupaczuk-Di Nennothe two best male couples of the year and that is the culmination of some intense quarterfinals in the men’s draw, and more anticipated in the women’s, with the incessant struggle for the one in them and in them.

yesterday they stayed out Paquito-Chingotto, eliminated in three sets by Sanyo-Momo, who came back from the initial 4-6 to win 7-6, 7-6 in one of those encounters that seem most spectacular and fill the eye; but then came the Lebrón-Galán, who were on the ropes against some great Garrido and Sanz, who despite losing 6-0 in the first round, later staged a match worth seeing repeated and that put the one in check: 6-7 and 7-6. She didn’t stop there, because Stupa and Di Nenno, the other male couple that never misses the semifinals, needed three sets to defeat Yanguas and Belasteguín: 7-5, 6-7 and 6-3. Only Tapia and Coello won in two sets, but they were also competitive, against Álex Ruiz and Tello6-3 and 6-4.

Today (second game in the morning), Lebrón and Galán need to beat Sanyo and Momo González to defend their continuous supremacy for three years, and due to the conditions of the court it does not seem that the couples are as unbalanced as in other tournaments in which punching prevails. Then, another Coello-Tapia against Stupa-Di Nenno, the most common duel of the year for men, both in the semifinals and in the finals, which Tapia and Coello always win, but in the last meeting it was in three sets.

Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría will face Marta Ortega and Sofi Araujo (the only one of the four who has never been number one) in the first game of the afternoon.. Ari and Paula defeated the Twins Sanchez Alayeto by 6-2 and 6-3, and Marta and Sofi to Tamara Icardo and Virginia Riera for a double 6-3. Salazar and Triay suffered in the first set (7-6) against Jessica Castelló and Claudia Jensenbut then they finished without more (6-0), while Delfi Brea and Bea González before Osoro and Lucia Sainz They were the ones that played the fewest games: 16, for a double 6-2.
