Inzamam ul Haq, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, has described Team India as a strong contender to win the T20 World Cup. Inzamam believes that Virat Kohli-led Team India is more likely to win the trophy as the conditions in UAE and Oman are similar to that of the subcontinent.
Inzamam said on his YouTube channel that in any tournament it cannot be said with certainty that a particular team will win. In my opinion, India has more chances than any other team to win this tournament, especially in such conditions. He said that more bowlers than Indian batsmen have a lot of experience playing in these conditions. The Indian Premier League (IPL) was recently played in the UAE and most of the Indian bowlers performed well in that leg.
Inzamam also praised the way Team India chased the target in the warm-up match against Australia. Inzamam said that India easily defeated Australia in the practice match. India is the most dangerous T20 team in the world on such subcontinental pitches. If we look at the 155 runs he chased, he didn’t even need Virat Kohli to do so.
Inzamam termed the India-Pakistan match in the Super 12 on October 24 as a “pre-final” and said the team that won it would go on to the remaining matches with a boost of morale. The former Pakistan captain said that even in the 2017 Champions Trophy, India and Pakistan faced each other to open and end the tournament. Both the matches looked like finals.
