Former Mayor Giuliani Will Also Be Questioned in Trump Case

Atlanta prosecutors told Rudy Giuliani’s attorneys Monday that he is the subject of their criminal investigation into possible attempts by then-President Donald Trump and others to interfere in the 2020 election in Georgia.

Special counsel Nathan Wade told Giuliani’s attorney in Atlanta that the former New York City mayor could face criminal charges, another Giuliani attorney, Robert Costello, said. The New York Times was the first medium to report the news.

The revelation that Giuliani, a Trump attorney, is the target of the investigation by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis brings the investigation closer to the former president. Willis has said she is considering calling Trump himself to testify before the special grand jury, and the former president has hired a criminal defense attorney in Atlanta.

Police scrutiny of Trump’s actions is intensifying. Last week, the FBI searched his Florida mansion Mar-a-Lago as part of an investigation into whether he brought confidential White House documents there.
