For the first time, a ‘mosque’ has been nominated for the UK’s largest architect award

London: Europe’s first eco-friendly mosque has been nominated for the British Architect Award, the winner of the award will be announced tomorrow.

For the first time, a mosque has been nominated for the Sterling Prize, the UK’s largest architect award, and the Cambridge Central Mosque, built on a wooden structure, is the first eco-friendly mosque in Europe to rely heavily on green energy.

The design of the beautiful mosque built in a modern style is a beautiful blend of Islamic and English architectural traditions, the construction of this mosque cost about 20 million British pounds.

The mosque can accommodate one thousand people at a time. The mosque was opened to the public on April 24, 2019.

The mosque has been nominated for the Sterling Prize for Outstanding Architecture, an award given by the Royal Institute of British Architects. The winner of the award will be announced tomorrow.

The other five buildings nominated for the award include the Tantagel Castle Foot Bridge. Windermere Jetty Museum Kingston, University of London Town House, Key Worker Housing, Eddington, Cambridge and 15 Clerk Well Closed.

The jury members acknowledged that the projects have a vision, which is reflected in all aspects of the design, show architectural and imaginative aspirations while delighting both the owners and their visitors.
