Fitbit detects if you snore or if noise occurs at night

It is the latest news for Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Versa 3 wearable users who can now know all the noises that occur during their sleep period. The Snore & Noise Detect function uses the microphone included in wearables to capture ambient sounds during the user’s sleep.

The next morning, the user receives the results from the night before. But keep in mind that this is a feature that is only available to premium subscribers. Another piece of good news is that this feature also allows users to notice if any outside noise is disturbing their sleep quality.

And the process of activating the functionality couldn’t be easier. Just navigate to the Today option in the Fitbit app and tap on the moon icon. Then press the gear icon and turn on the Detect Snoring feature. Then just follow the instructions on the screen and, of course, use the wearable during the night.

The next day, the user can see the statistics of the previous night in the application or on the wearable itself. Information such as how long you were awake, restless and sleeping, as well as the present noises (snoring included) and also excessive movements.

The FitBit help page also advances that the function divides snoring into three segments: light, if the user emits less than 10% of the time they slept, moderate from 40% of the time they sleep and frequent if the user snores. more than 40% of night’s sleep.

Fitbit measures decibels of snoring

Decibels are also rated on a scale that starts at 30 decibels (or very low) and goes up to more than 90 decibels (very high). The brand recommends that the wearable have the battery charged at least 40%, so that the functionality can do its job.

Additionally, users can also define a period of time to assess their sleep quality, thereby disabling the new feature via Fitbit’s data management page.
