The Dominican Tennis Federation (Fedotenis) announced this week that it will hold two professional events M25 and W25, to be played in the Parque del Este with a purse of 100 thousand dollars.
The first tournament will be played between June 6 and 12, both in the men’s and women’s branches, and distributes a bag of 50 thousand dollars.
Immediately after the first event ends, which also distributes 50 thousand dollars, another tournament begins with the same characteristic from June 13 to 19.
The W25 tournament awards 18 WTA points for the champion and the M25 will add 18 ATP points for the champion. It will be played in singles and doubles, from 9 in the morning.
The tournament director is Sergio Tobal, while Omar "Jimmy" Cardona will be the referee.
These tournaments would be the fifth and sixth professional for men, and third and fourth for women’s tennis, organized by Fedotenis and are part of the events belonging to the professional circuit of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) that are scheduled for this year in the country.
For both events, 175 players from around 25 countries around the world are expected.
Dominican players such as Roberto Cid, Peter Bertran and Alejandro Gandini will be in the tournaments, as well as Carolina Chiatti and Ana Zamburek, among others.
Registration for the first tournament begins this Saturday, June 4. The qualifier matches will be played between Sunday and Monday.
