Father of slain teen Geral Froste shot in Uruguay’s Nuevo Ellauri neighborhood

A 34-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot in a brutal attack in a Montevideo neighborhood. This comes just three months after his 14-year-old son was killed in a similar incident.

The man was driving with his partner, daughter, and her 12-year-old friend when gunmen on a motorcycle approached and opened fire. One of the 12-year-old girls was also hit and is now in critical condition.

The attack happened when the family stopped to pick up the injured girl, who was waiting for a bus. The gunmen struck just meters away, targeting the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The girl’s condition is grave, according to sources close to the case. The man’s daughter and partner were lucky to escape unharmed.

Investigation Underway

Police found a submachine gun, three pistols, and drugs just 10 blocks from the scene. Authorities believe this discovery may be linked to the shooting. The main theory is that the attack was targeted, with the perpetrator focusing on the driver.

The family’s car was hit by multiple bullets. The injured girl is being treated at a hospital, while the man was taken to a different medical facility by a passerby.

Previous Tragedy

The man’s son was killed on Christmas Day last year when he tried to defend his mother. The latest attack has raised concerns about violence in the area.

In the aftermath of the shooting, police are working to piece together the events surrounding the attack. The discovery of the weapons and drugs has given them a lead to pursue. For now, the community is left to wonder about the motivations behind the senseless violence.
