The shots were heard at 18:15 local time, with the shooter firing several times from an elevated position, the statement revealed. The Secret Service personnel were able to neutralize the shooter, bringing the situation under control.
Prosecutor Speaks on the Attack
Earlier, the prosecutor handling the case, Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger, spoke about the attacker. "I don’t know how he got to where he was, but he was outside the compound. And I think that’s something we’re going to have to figure out how he got there," Goldinger said, also noting that one rally-goer had died and another was in critical condition in the hospital.
