Keeping the sexual organs healthy is essential to avoid sexually transmitted diseases and the use of antiseptic lubricants can help promote hygiene in these areas, a specialist said on Wednesday.
“Keeping sexual organs healthy It is recommended and use antiseptic gel specialized in sexual lubrication not only covers the function that any other lubricant would do, but also promotes hygiene, which is essential in a sexual encounter”, Mexican sexologist Fortuna Dichi pointed out at a press conference.
The expert indicated that safe sex not only implies the use of condoms, but also education, regular medical consultations and various methods to avoid contracting sexually transmitted infections.
According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Mexico, young people begin their sexual life between the ages of 15 and 19 on average, in addition to the fact that it is estimated that 60% do not use any protection against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
“It is not that an antiseptic replaces the condom, but it is an auxiliary that helps to have greater hygiene during sexual intercourse and, combined with condoms, can result in greater efficacy,” Dichi said.
BARRIERS THAT LIMIT PLEASURE
The World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) recognizes that sexual pleasure is a fundamental part of sexual rights, health and well-being.
However, the expert pointed out that in regions such as Latin America between 30% to 40% of couples limit their sexual pleasuremainly due to various barriers.
“There are many myths, false beliefs that we do not have the right to sexual pleasure, but also other issues such as culture, machismo, poor sexual education, not talking about sex, lack of time and adequate space, among others” , accurate.
He explained that this means that many times not only is there no pleasure, but in the absence of good lubrication there is too much friction in the sexual organs that can irritate the skin and cause small lesions in sensitive areaswhich increases the chance of contracting STDs.

In addition to this, he explained, when you have anal sex, lubrication is essential, because not being good there may be irritation and tears, This increases the possibility of contracting sexually transmitted infections.
