Exhibition of the Arkéa in the Women’s Tour of Extremadura

Arkéa has been the star team during the women’s Tour of Extremadura that ended this Sunday with the ascent to the municipality of Piornal. A race in which the Irish Megan Armitage took victory on the final stage ahead of her teammates Clara Emond and Maaike Coljé.

A Vuelta a Extremadura that has been quite an exhibition on the part ofl Arkéa, as the French team prevailed in the inaugural team time trial in Mérida to get the lead and finish off the job this Sunday with the triplet at the finish at Piornal achieved by Armitage, Emond and Coljé.

A triplet that was also repeated in the general classification, where Armitage took victory with a time of 6:12:43, beating Clara Emond for the six seconds of bonuses. The Dutch Maaike Coljé closed the podium, 26 seconds behind Armitage.

The Women’s Tour of Extremadura also left good news for Spanish cycling with fourth place achieved by Massi Tactic thanks to the French Cécile Lejune, while Iurani Blancofrom Laboral Kutxa, was the first Spaniard in the general classification, finishing in fifth position.
