Everything we already know about the iPhone 14 Max

When it arrives in September, the iPhone 14 Max will be the biggest and best model of the new generation of Apple smartphones.

Many of the news that it brings with it have already been revealed by various rumours. Point by point we tell you everything we already know about the top of the range iPhone 14 Max.

The design of the iPhone 14 Max may be different from previous models

This is one of the most recurring rumors about the new generation of iPhone. Apparently, Apple dropped the notch that housed the sensors to replace it with two small openings, one circular and one pill-shaped, to house both the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors.

The information first surfaced via Jon Prosser, but other reliable leakers like Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo have already confirmed that Apple has indeed ditched the notch on upcoming Pro models.

The layout will also be changed on the back panel. All to house the supposed new 48-megapixel sensor, which is obviously larger than the 12-megapixel sensor present in the current 13 Pro Max version.

The screen is still similar to that of the iPhone 13 Pro Max

It looks like Apple won’t be making any major changes to the display. Leaker Ross Young talks about a 6.68-inch OLED panel while Ming-Chi Kuo is more generous and points to a 6.7-inch screen.

The resolution will be 2778×1284 pixels and ProMotion technology will be present that provides a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

In addition to the replacement of the notch and a possible update in brightness, the Cupertino company is not expected to make any major changes and the iPhone 14 Max will have very similar screen specifications to the previous model.

Here will be one of the biggest updates from the iPhone 13 Pro Max to the iPhone 14 Pro Max and responsible for it will be a new primary sensor with 48 megapixel resolution capable of recording 8K video. Several reliable leakers, including MIng-Chi Kuo, have already guaranteed the presence of this new sensor.

Little is known about the other sensors, but it looks like Apple will keep the 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, as well as the 12-megapixel telephoto sensor that provides 3x optical zoom.

Some rumors suggest that the iPhone 14 Max could integrate a periscope sensor with 5x optical zoom, but apparently this sensor is reserved for the iPhone 15 series that only arrives in 2023.

New processor and faster RAM

We’re headed straight for another major update to the previous model. The iPhone 14 Max will integrate the A16 Bionic chip which is supposed to be based on TSMC’s 4nm process.

This is a significant upgrade given that the A15 Bionic from its predecessor uses the 5nm process.

While it retains the same 6GB of RAM as the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the 14 Pro Max may come equipped with LPDDR5 RAM that’s faster and more power efficient than the LPDDR4X RAM in the previous model.

With these changes, at least in theory, the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have more powerful and faster performance, as well as better power management.

bigger battery?

Some rumors suggest that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will arrive with a larger battery than its predecessor, which has a 4,352 mAh battery.

If this information is confirmed, the news could not be better. Even more so considering that the autonomy of the iPhone 13 Pro Max is quite good. However, this rumor was not reinforced by the usual reliable leakers, such as Ming-Chi Kuo or Mark Gurman, which leads us to caution.

And, for now, this is the information available on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which, when it arrives in mid-September, will focus all the attention of the high-tech world on itself. After all, this will be Apple’s high-end terminal.
