The National Civil Police confirmed this Thursday that since the approval of the state of emergency in March, almost 42,000 suspected gang members have already been arrested.

Of the total number of detainees, about eight thousand would still be waiting for the first hearingwhile more than 33,000 will continue to be detained under the state of exception for a period of up to six months, extendable for another six months to complete a year in the investigation process, according to Delgado.
