El Corte Inglés will have its own hotel with 113 rooms

The project for the first El Corte Inglés hotel has finally been approved by the Madrid City Council. The hotel will be located in the Salamanca district near the department stores that the company has in that area. With this project the company expects to earn 1.7 million euros per year after an investment of 6.8 million.

The hotel will be four stars and will have 113 rooms, the price of which will be around 120 euros per night is also known. The building will also include storage spaces and a small area for a gym and spa.

What difficulties has the company had with this project?

The hotel will be on the plots of numbers 89 Calle de Goya and 3 Conde de Peñalver, where the company currently has a building in the lower part and the upper floors are rented homes, whose tenants will have to vacate the property in the upcoming weeks.

One of the initial problems that El Corte Ingles has had to face has been the protection of one of the buildings that is from the first third of the 20th century and would have 100 years of history. Therefore, no modifications can be made to the façade.
