Efrén Llarena saves points in Poland

Complicated weekend for the European champion, Efren Llarena. The Spaniard finished tenth in the third round of the season, the Rally Poland, a result that allowed him to save some points that keep him in fifth position in the championship. The victory went to his teammate, the Latvian Martin Sesks, who prevailed over the leader of the race, Hayden Paddon.

The narrow and fast gravel sections of Mikolajki, which in the past hosted a World Cup event, have served to experience the third duel of the season. After the gravel of Fafe (Portugal) and the asphalt of the Canary Islands, it was once again the turn of gravel in the Polish test that he has dominated Sesks with an iron fist, albeit with Paddon hot on his heels from start to finish.

Llarena already had coupling problems with his new Skoda Fabia in Fafe and, although he felt more comfortable on the asphalt in the Canary Islands and was on the podium, back on the ground it was very difficult for him to get up to speed. “It has been a disappointing rally”, assured the Spaniard at the end. “At least it was a good result for the team with Sesks’ win. We will come back stronger at the next appointment in Latvia”.
