A crane fell on people during a ceremony at a temple in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, killing four people and injuring several others.

According to Indian media, the incident took place between Sunday and Monday night in the Draupati temple in Ranipat area, in which about 9 people including a girl were seriously injured who were admitted to a private hospital for treatment, Crane at the time of the accident. Around 1500 Hindu pilgrims were present.

The video of the accident has also come out. In the one-minute-and-a-second video, it can be seen that the idols are being moved by the crane. Some people are also hanging with him. Seconds later, the crane suddenly tips over and its front end falls on top of the crowd.

Ranipat Superintendent of Police Deepa Sathyan says that the front part of the crane was not very high, it seems that the crane lost its balance due to the rough and soft ground below, however, further investigations are underway.

On the other hand, Ranipat Collector Bhaskra Pandian says that the crane operator has been detained. He said that private cranes were not allowed to be used on the occasion of the ceremony.
