Dubai: Police in the state of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates arrested two foreigners for stealing jewelry from a shop window.
Dubai Police arrested two European nationals for stealing expensive jewelery from a Dubai store within 12 hours of receiving the theft report.
The arrest was made after Dubai Police’s command and control center received an emergency call reporting the theft of jewelery from the shop’s display window.
A police team was immediately dispatched to the spot after which the police officials spoke to the shop owner who confirmed the theft.
Dubai Police then reviewed CCTV footage which revealed that the accused committed the crime while hiding behind face masks, goggles and flat caps.

A thorough investigation revealed that the suspects entered an under-construction building and escaped in disguise before committing the crime and used some tools to break the shop’s display window to steal jewellery.
Investigations by Dubai Police also revealed that after committing the crime, the suspects entered a building under construction to change their clothes and disguised their shoes and belongings by throwing them in a landfill for construction waste. Returned to the hotel.
Upon searching the accused’s hotel room, the Dubai Police recovered a torn paper detailing the crime plot. They then pursued the suspects who boarded the plane in an attempt to flee the country.
Dubai Police arrested the accused and recovered the stolen jewelery from one of their belongings and seized the tools used in the crime.
