Double Homicide and Two Injured in Cotravi Neighborhood Shooting Attack Early Monday

A violent incident shook the Cotravi neighborhood in Montevideo’s Cerro Norte and La Paloma area early Monday.
Two armed men on a motorcycle arrived at a house, entered, and opened fire.
Four people were inside; two died, and two were injured.
The wounded were rushed to Cerro Hospital.

Victims and Suspects

One of the deceased was a 43-year-old man with a history of violent crime, including three prior convictions for homicide, robbery, and receiving stolen goods.
The other victim’s identity hasn’t been released.
The injured men are 23 and 26 years old; both have criminal records.
The 23-year-old was convicted of theft and receiving stolen goods twice, while the 26-year-old was convicted of assault.

Investigation Underway

Forensic experts are working to identify one of the victims.
Detectives are reviewing security footage to track down the killers.
This isn’t the first violent incident at the house; a similar attack occurred late last year, resulting in one death and one injury.
Police are working to determine if there’s a connection between the two incidents.
