Swiss coach Lucien Favre was fired from Borussia Dortmund, the day after the 5-1 defeat against Stuttgart, in the 11th matchday of the German football league.
“Lucien Favre is no longer a coach for Dortmund”, revealed the club on the social network Twitter, adding that Edin Terzic, one of the deputies, will take over the team “until the end of the season”.
Borussia Dortmund suffered on Saturday the heaviest defeat of the season, losing with a ‘handful’ of goals, falling to fifth place in the classification.
Stuttgart, gave Lucien Favre’s team a ‘lesson’ in football, with Dortmund lost on the pitch in a game where they continued without counting the injured Norwegian Haaland, but also Thorgan Hazard, Meunier or Delaney.
In the Champions League, the team went first in their group, ahead of Lazio, and is one of the possible opponents of FC Porto on Monday in the draw for the round of 16 of the Champions League.
Lucien Favre had taken over as coach of Dortmund in 2018/19, after two seasons at Nice, but in two and a half seasons he only managed to win the German Super Cup.
