World Boxing Association (WBA) super featherweight world champion Héctor Luis García is sure to shock the boxing world this Saturday night when he takes on Gervonta "Tank" Davis, WBA ‘regular’ lightweight champion.
The fight will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, a clash in which Garcia is convinced to prove his value as one of the best boxers of the moment.
“Davis, in my opinion, is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters and one of the best punchers in boxing, so I know going into this fight I am an underdog,” said the Dominican.
“Not a lot of people are giving me a chance in this fight, but that’s what motivates me. I was in the same situation before the (Chris) Colbert fight, but this time I had a real training camp. I think my style will give ‘Tank’ problems. I’m a southpaw with a lot of tricks and I’ll use them all when I step into the ring on January 7th."Garcia commented.
“A victory against ‘Tank’ will cement me as one of the best fighters in the world. I already believe it in my mind, but the world will realize how good I am after this fight. I didn’t come here alone. I want to thank my team for all their support. Getting this fight has changed my life forever, but winning it will do wonders for everyone on my team,” he remarked.
