The places in MotoGP are already full and in Moto2, little by little, the grid is being reorganized. The jump of Augusto Fernández to the highest category and the signing of Sergio García Dols for the FlexBox HP40 has triggered a series of movements that, on the contrary, do not surprise many. The first of all has been made official this Tuesday, in the run-up to the Thai Grand Prix: theThe renewal of Jake Dixon with GASGAS Aspar Team. After a course where, so far, the Briton has scored four podiums in Morto2, Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar”s team has opted for reinforcing his bond with the pilot and signing one more year, until the end of 2023.

“I am looking forward to my third season with the GASGAS Aspar Team. I want to keep improving and evolving, in the weeks of racing that we have left this year and in the next season. This year has been incredible, with four podiums, two pole positions and six front rows. We only need the first victory, but we must not get impatient because, working like this, it will come soon”, Dixon says in the team’s statement. The Briton is fifth in the general classification of the intermediate category, practically tripling the points achieved in 2020. Without a doubt, his best season to date and he can only think about constantly fighting for victories in the face of 2023: “We will have to take a leap and fight for the title. This year we have been fast, but we have to put into practice everything we have been learning to be able to fight for the championship. I want to do my best and I’m happy to be able to continue working together with my technical team”.

Adding four podiums, three of them consecutive, ‘Aspar’ has nothing but compliments for its rider: “We brought Jake Dixon to the World Championship in 2019 and I must say that it has grown spectacularly in recent years. We are very happy to have been able to form a great team around him, which has allowed him to think only about competing and achieving the best possible result. This year we have celebrated some podium finishes with him, but next year he has to constantly fight to be in the top three. We are sure that he will get it.” With this, Albert Arenas’ departure from the Aspar Team is only a matter of time because the Catalan will land at Red Bull KTM Ajo as Pedro Acosta’s teammate. Meanwhile, Jorge Martínez already has his decision clear: he wants Izan Guevara in his ranks. And if he is like world champion, better.
