Dengue is out of control in Peru

Anti-dengue campaign continues in Peru, 80 people have died from dengue fever so far this year.

More than 73 thousand people were affected by dengue fever in the South American country of Peru. The reason for this spread of dengue by the government is being attributed to Peru’s weather.

According to the Director of Ministry of Health, mosquito repellent is being sprayed from house to house to control dengue. According to the administration, this anti-dengue campaign started two weeks ago. Which includes 25 different departments of Peru.

According to the American Health Organization, dengue is spread primarily during warm, rainy weather. This season is very suitable for the spread of dengue. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water.

Peru has been affected by floods and landslides in recent times. Experts say they are linked to El Nino, which warms the South Pacific Ocean, causing heavy rains in the Pacific coastal region.
