Delfina Brea and Bea González gave the announcement on Saturday by beating the number one, Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, with a fierce and loose way of competing. Today they had as rivals in the final the number two in the ranking, Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay, who have played all the games on Sundayalthough they had a streak of four tournaments on loan, and today is the fifth, because they have not been able to with this new duo on the circuit.
It is the fourth tournament for Bea and Delfi, and until now Ale and Gemma had stood in their way to the top. Today, however, the Argentine (Delfi) and the Spanish have not suffered that drop in the third set of other days. Because the clash was going through the usual channels: the first round for Delfi and Brea, happy and loose, without contemplation (6-2), to later appear Alejandra Salazar and with her balloons and diagonal play allow Gemma’s appearances cutting the plays, or punishing the risks of winning Bea’s net (3-6).
It seemed the usual story with the 0-2 start in the third set for Ale and Gemma. Then Bea freed herself from any complex and made good the words of Marta Marrero who, before her retirement, indicated her as her successor for her punch. The woman from Malaga smashed the ball, and in no time it was 2-2, to break the serve at 4-4 after a marvelous outing from her, putting the ball through the goal so low that Alejandra couldn’t lift it. That, plus a fantastic parallel from Delfi on Gemma who had won the center of the net, ended up deciding the clash: 6-4. The couple’s first title, the third of the year that she wins a tournament, and Bea maintains her idyll with Denmark where she won in 2022 with Marta Ortega.
