ASEAN countries include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Lijian said: “We will consider a coordinated arrangement on the basis of ensuring safety amid Kovid-19 on the return of foreign students to China to study.”

He said: “At the same time, I would like to reiterate that in light of the emerging epidemic situation, China will decide on prevention and control measures in a coordinated manner based on scientific analysis.” China has issued visas to Indians. Since last year, more than 23,000 students, Indian businessmen and their families have been stranded at home due to the non-operation of flights between the two countries.

Most of these students study medicine in China. At the same time, students from South Asian countries studying in China have also had to stay in their respective countries. They are waiting for China’s travel restrictions to be eased so they can go there to complete their studies.
