The United States’ investigative agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has blamed China for the spread of the coronavirus.
FBI Director Christopher Wray says his agency has determined that a leak from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, is the likely cause of the Covid-19 pandemic.
His comments followed a Wall Street Journal report on Sunday in which the Energy Department said the outbreak was the result of a leak from a Chinese laboratory.
According to the Wall Street Journal, four other US agencies and a national intelligence panel believe that Covid-19 spread naturally.
In an interview with Fox News, Christopher Wray said that the FBI had long speculated that the origin of the pandemic (Covid-19) was possibly a lab incident in Wuhan.
White House national security spokesman John Kirby said on Monday that the US government has not reached any final conclusions and consensus about the pandemic.
